HOG Sessions @ Calapooia Brewing Co
A great Oregon brew-pub
Wild Hog in the Woods has been hosting jam sessions at the
Calapooia Brewing Co ( Once the Oregon Trader) on Thursday nights for years because it is such great
fun! The beer is good…the folks are
friendly…It’s a real live local pub with darts, homebrew and interesting
characters (and no smoking). People come from all over,
… Alaska, N. Carolina, New Hampshire & all over Oregon…to sit in with
THE HOGS or just to listen and enjoy…everyone’s a friend by the end.
Like a box of Cracker Jacks, you never know what great mix of
instruments and talents will be inside on any given Thursday night…but it’s
always good. Along with the wild
array of instruments played by the HOGS we see clarinets, washtubs,
washboards, hammer dulcimers, harmonicas, lots of fiddles, and even a
step-a-tune. Through the session we
play a wide range of music from dyed-in-the-wool old-time fiddle tunes to
Janis Joplin and the Beatles and everything in between…. Anything for a bit of fun!
This is the way music should be enjoyed! There’s no electronics to get in the
way, so everyone can be intimately involved in the fun.
